Photography's always been a very personal thing, so I've always shot solo. I started a photoblog last year, La Gueule du Monde (rashakahilblog.blogspot.com), after a painful break up. I picked up my camera again and started shooting everything and everyone around me In hindsight, it was a almost as if combatting a fear of loss brought about by the heartbreak, and the blog became the perfect outlet for the massive amount of moments I froze and amassed.
Again, like with my first boyfriend, I felt the need to pin down everything around me, to document the emotions that made the banality of the everyday. The pictures are the emotions themselves in a way. One picture does not tell a whole story narrative, but it freeze-frames the moment of tension in the story.
