I saw Alexander McQueen's first collection when I was 11 and remember being amazed by it; I have been interested in fashion since then. Throughout my education I kept dipping in and out of fashion here and there, but I couldn't justify producing fashion photography on my fine art degree, so once I left I had a bit of a breather and went to New York for two months to chill out and think clearly again. This was my 'what am I going to do with my life' holiday. I thought about what really makes me happy, what I enjoy and what I could see myself doing for the rest of my life and by the end, I realised that there was only one answer.

Having come from a Fine Art background I do find my work leans more heavily towards editorial shoots, and there are also times when art history sneaks its way in, like this shoot. I am also very interested in people (which I guess fashion is all about) but I am also fascinated with fashion's influence on portraiture.

In the first year after my getaway, I started doing what I could to build my book. I did tests here and there around working full time which was very difficult. Eventually I couldn't take it any more and saved enough money to chuck in my job and concentrate on what it was I was doing. I started really building my book properly and getting models from good agencies to work with and it all started to click. I did a shoot for the last issue of Vague Paper (which is a small cult magazine in the UK) and am keeping busy with small jobs for new designers.
