My adventure with photography started in Israel where we were living for 8 months and I was studying. I had no idea what photography was. I was shooting everything … people, objects, landscapes, streets of Jerusalem. But somehow I started paying attention to details.

Once I went to Tel Aviv for a trip. And I took my first, let’s say emblematic picture, which showed a detail of a very colorful door in Yafo. I came back home and Gonçalo was somehow impressed with the idea, colors, composition… Instinctively I started to take more and more minimalistic pictures like that; pictures in which the main subjects were colors and shapes, light and shadows, and in which forms were reduced to minimum. It was not a concept. It was and it is an instinct.
