We are not sure whether to go forward or, indeed, whether we have to go back, to go forward. Futurists would argue that we are at the ‘apex of total global awareness’ and that the dawn of an new era of enlightenment – ushered in by the arrival of the Age of Aquarius – will prepare this world for that future. Others see only catastrophic destruction. God dwindles in some lands whilst tradition is fundamentally enforced elsewhere. Headlines conflict, confusion is widespread. Is there one way, or many?
