Creativity is the major and the hardest tool in my profession. Creativity is something “invisible” but it can be improved with time and work. On the other hand, technique depends on the amount of time spent to study and practice. Creativity requires a different approach, a work towards developing new ideas. And I found life to be the source of all these ideas, all artists’ muse.

Nowadays we have a flood of information made available by TV, magazines, books, film, theatre, and internet. They all give us the opportunity to experience many feelings, making us more aware of the life around us. Personally I can’t say that I have “one” way of finding my inspiration, because life is multiple and I am still learning how to read its different signs.

I partly identify with Dadaism. It argues that the path to creation is a spontaneous event, depending on your personal state of mind in a particular moment and the environment around you. An idea for a project can happen at any time, whether I’m with friends, or working, or sitting in the tube on yet another busy day at London. And so it can happen days before the shooting day, or sometimes it can even take place in that same day when you start drinking in the creativity of the models and team. But that is just the gateway, the toughest work comes before: to make that idea possible.

My most important guideline is Light, and it is the strongest element in my creation process. To me, it is the ability to work with Light that makes a good photographer.
