I assisted my friend Clare Shilland for a few shoots but
wasn't very good
at it, plus I think I'm probably too opinionated for assisting!
My photography hero is Guy Bourdin, his work inspired me to start doing this. Other people that have inspired me are Helmut Newton, Nobuyoshi Araki, William Eggleston, Ron Raffaelli, David Hamilton, Man Ray, Diane Arbus, Philippe Halsman, Weegee and many others who's names I constantly forget.
My real inspirations though are film directors, I find that cinema influences me most of all. The directors I love most (visually) are Dario Argento, Brian De Palma, Radley Metzger, Tinto Brass, Lucio Fulci, Seijun Suzuki, Sergio Leone, Akira Kurosawa, Alfred Hitchcock, Terrence Malick, Federico Fellini, Alejandro Jodorowsky and Ted Nicolaou.
