The amount of freedom to create I felt there was also a change.  In many places, one has to fear being harassed by the authorities, but in Hong Kong, there is no such pressure that I felt the need to watch my back.  Granted, I was shooting in a restricted property that we reside in; but even in public, I could openly take photos of the Police, and they would just smile back.  What a reminder of what true freedom is like.  You do what you want unless you interfere with others' freedom.  What permit?!"
