My name is Nik Mirus and I am originally from Winnipeg Manitoba. Four years ago I moved to Montreal to study at the Dawson College Institute of Photography. I continue to live in Montreal working as a photographer and freelance photography assistant.

I first became interested in photography as a means of documenting the things and people around me. I started to take more of an interest following high school. My Dad gave me an old Pentax 35mm for Christmas and enrolled me in an introductory photo course at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.  It progressed from there: taking introductory darkroom, Photoshop and lighting classes.
