The illustrations were
my favorite, that's probably why I loved gross
anatomy as much as I did. Referring back and forth between the 2D
textbook drawing and the real thing -- I could trace and navigate
exactly
where that vein came out, and to what it's connected. Articulating
spaces, establishing circulation, this is architecture as
much as it is medicine. It was great that architecture found me when it did. I was lucky to have been mentored by Steffen Leisner, who insisted on architecture as my next move, and SCI-Arc being my new home. These stone ruins did not have the foresight to create the NINAKI jewelry line that it is now, it was only through the discipline of injecting theory, and committing to a narrative that the jewelry can began to exist as something more than accessory. |
