I know that true professionals focus mostly in one area, however probably because of a bad case of ADHD I work in many of them. My favorites are portrait, editorial fashion, fine art nude, documentary, industrial and travel  photography.

Although they might sound very different from each other, in today's modern photography and media many of those areas collide with each other and some expertise in them might give you that extra edge or an additional point of view towards concepts.
 
I started from landscape and journalism 17-18 years ago. Journalism and editorial stayed as the main interest for a few years, then travel photography came more and more into the picture. Eventually street and portrait photography took over the other types and finally a return to editorial caused a sudden deep interest in fashion photography.
