180: Tell us about these shots?

Kerstin: The 8 pictures in this story are sort of my favourites of the last few years. They come from three different series, "Fly or Die", "Milky Way" and "Question Reality". The title image is a self portrait.

To explain these titles fully would mean to destroy their magic and any sense the viewer could give to it by themselves.

"Fly or Die" represents the dream of overcoming gravity, it is the dream of flying, the mythology of the freedom to feel, to grasp, to understand and to change what surrounds us and moves us. 

"Milky Way" is partly inspired by "Far Out" by Blur. I abstained from any real background scenery in this series, which is rather atypical for my work.

The images in "Question Reality" were not digitally manipulated in any way. In that sense they are real and authentic, but they tell a special kind of story which makes them appear surreal in the beholder's point of view.
