The Little Girl and the Old Man

My special way to work is that I try to get as close to reality without copying that reality by just taking a picture of it. By that I mean I build the reality on the computer. I think that when you look, you can never see the whole thing, and when you take a picture of what you see, you never get the feeling of what you felt when you saw it. I delete some details, or I add some things, until the picture becomes the reality I saw, perhaps it then becomes a more personal reality.

I think with this way of working, it doesn't matter whether I am doing fashion or commercials, when the client recognizes and respects my way of doing pictures I'm satisfied. It is too sad that there are so few clients out there who think in the new way of composing pictures. Society moves very slowly, I mean the great innovative music that Aphex Twin did is still, after 10 years, far ahead. There are some good pictures being made out there, but they are still mostly in the underground.
