Most of the time, I photograph in the studio, with long exposures. This means the model has to stay still without moving for two to three minutes. I have a story I tell the children. I have a red light above the camera. I tell them that if they can get inside their beautiful dream, this little red light will flash, a trap to catch their dreams. And if it works, and they are deep within their dreams, my camera will catch the dream and they will see the flashing red light. Sometimes I even tell this story to adults.
