I started in theatre
when I was 18. What was frustrating about theatre was you could create
beautiful images, and then they would disappear at once. In the
beginning most of my models were from the theatre. I was driven to keep
the images I created, it was important for me. My pictures in the
beginning were too theatrical, and little by little, I tried to make
them less 'mise en scene'. I got closer and closer to the face, to get
rid of this theatrical element. And then I got back to the body again.
Now I am able to take pictures with the whole body, without too much of
this feeling of theatre. |
