The most important piece of information I have learned in the working world of photography is to always trust your vision and instincts first. I learned that of course the hard way after taking a creative director’s comments too literally and not interpreting them to fit my standards and vision. Ultimately, the story was dropped.

Recently, I tried to re-evaluate what I wanted to photograph and imagined that I would like to focus primarily on still life. However, I missed the lovely nuances that only a person could bring to an image. People have never been the main focus in my photographs. I have always tried to let the other elements in my work have an equal or louder voice.
