Passing

I have always been interested in fashion and looking at it from a construction point of view. This is probably why I became quite interested in still life and architecture as well. A beautifully constructed dress and a well-designed building strike similar chords for me. During school and afterwards, I started to combine all of these interests into one shoot. I believed and still believe that a fully evolved story contains people, environment, and objects. The objects I am most interested in are probably shoes and books, which tend to reoccur in my work.

As for architecture, being an ardent fan of 1950’s and ‘60s sensibilities, the buildings of that time resonate with me as well. I have a particular fondness for modern churches, many of which are superbly designed. I shot a short film in an Eero Saarinen chapel which you can watch on my website.
