A big part of my approach is to have the subject of the image interacting with an unusual environment.  A sense of place is fundamental to story; narratives need context.  This part of my work draws heavily on the years I spent as a travel photographer, shooting outdoor adventure travel and city scenes.  Now I take those types of dramatic settings and introduce a subject.
