I say in my blurb on my website that I use a 'Hitchcockian, Nabokovian magic' in my work - also I would add 'Kubrickian'... it is always good to be inspired by other arts, be it literature or film - I refer a lot to my English course in my images on my photostream, which book I'm reading next, that sort of thing. There is a shot which shows my naked back next to a finished Hardy novel, laid on my bedcovers, which was a particularly successful image of mine that people like to argue over - as some said it was unflattering, others liked it. I always like to play around with taking images and not 'plan' things because they usually don't turn out the way you want them. I refer to my work as 'unplanned babies'. I think the spontaneity adds to the the value people give my work. I am very grateful that I can interest and entertain, and I hope I can continue to do so! My Taschen Moment Titled as such because it is my dream to be published by such a name! This is part of a series of similar fag-puffing American-Ad like images (though I don't smoke) the processing of which gave them their nostalgic, classic feel, popular on Flickr except with those who find women smoking unsexy.
