I grew up
in Leeds and came to Sussex to study my degree in English and Media. I
have always been interested in Photography but never to the extent that
I thought I would have the potential to be an artist in the field. I
worked for an ethnic-media newspaper before coming to University at
which I became popular for my effective, attention-catching images of
the community. At University I started to make more self-portraits as
well as continiuing to take pics of other people and animals, and
through internet photo-sharing, I came to be convinced I could have a
future in this field by the comments and encouragement of a global
community. Clamber This was roughly the first clone image I made (not the total first, just the first when I started my proper collection a year ago) When someone commented that the figures look like a Tate installation, I suspected that I had hit on something truly artistic, but never would have been able to believe how many different props, outfits and locations were stock in my imagination to produce the next 100 or so clone images! I'd have thought the ideas would soon run out. Title page: Memoirs of a Woman of Leisure One of my all-time biggest successes, and the home page of my website www.missaniela.com Not only mystical, artistic and mannequin-like (other people's words, not mine!) but also sums up the life of a student's laundry basket/couch! |
