For ten thousand dollars back
in the 1980’s I would direct and shoot
while my buddy would edit a music video for anybody willing to
pay. This went on for a few years but it was burning me out. I
couldn’t
seem to get the reel that I needed for self marketing. I was
stuck in
the mentality of old school hip hop videos, they didn’t want art or
story but boodie and pump. My partner became frustrated and was
soon
getting ready to leave our little company, Pirate Films. I
knew
something was not working out with this niche and I would need to
change.
