Vimy was a long time ago. But not so long that we don't feel the weight of those long dead sons and daughters.

The sculptures are the plaster moulds that Walter Allward created, from which the Vimy Memorial was carved. I took these images several months ago while visiting the National War Museum with my son and daughter. The plasters stuck in my head far longer than the rusty tanks and guns and somehow they got mixed up with the images of the roadkill angel.

I put the two sets of photos together one day and they sort of moved themselves into this story. It says a lot about what I think is right and wrong with the country at the moment, I think it's time to speak up.
