Kortney, on the other hand, moved to San Diego about four and a half years ago and began helping with the photo shoots on the weekends until it eventually turned into a full time position.
First and foremost, John and Kortney enjoy working people into their projects and try to bring a vibrant color theme into all shots. Areas that they tend to focus in are glamour, beauty, fashion and retro-art (specifically recreating the works of Alberto Vargas in a photographic medium). Their efforts during the last year have been to focus on completing the commercial portfolio and working with a top photography consultant on the East Coast to help accomplish the transition to commercial work.
Ephotique’s focus on commercial work was mandated by the need to build a photography business. Those that can make a living, run a business and pay employees and vendors from glamour work are few and far between.
