Photographing the nude has been the “great escape” from a very demanding career.  I like to paint the figure as well as to photograph it, but the latter permits me to expand more easily into a world of magic places and extraordinary landscapes.  How can you not keep up the passion, for what can be the most beautiful of all creations?!  To be able to capture that instant when a woman is at her absolute finest physically.  The interest, I am afraid, will stop when the lights go out!

The model is everything.  She is the inspiration, the “Muse”, the driving creative force.  A model is above all a person, who I like to communicate with, to befriend.  I do not particularly like the cold “professional model” approach where the hourly fee is the only goal.  Good models are not easy to find, but once “discovered” I like to work with the same person for several years.  This helps greatly in the shooting process.  I always pay the models for their time, and often give photos as well.  In some instances the model may prefer a painting or portfolio in exchange for a sitting.  I try to be as generous as possible because what they offer is truly priceless and ephemeral.
