I saw this man at the same carnival and knew I had to take his photograph. The only problem was that he did not want his photograph taken.  He told me that every time he had his picture taken it looked like the photograph used on a drivers license.  I persisted in asking permission and told him I would process the picture and would bring him a print to see before the carnival closed that evening.  I made a 4x6 color print and an 8x10 black & white of this image.  When I showed them to him, he was quiet for a few minutes. Then he thanked me and said he was going to send the black & white picture to his sister who he hadn’t seen in over 20 years and was going to keep the color one for himself.
