All of my models are NYC agency models.. I work with many different agencies here in the city. For the majority of my shoots, as soon as an idea is thought out, I have a strong idea of the image I see for the model.. then it’s up to me and the bookers to cast the perfect girl and bring my idea to life. 

I think you can definitely look at a model's portfolio and tell if they are better at fashion or beauty. Beauty is of such a graphic nature, there has to be that intimate connection in the eyes.  Also depending on the magazine/job – everyone has their own image of what is perfect.  Some models are more high fashion, some models are more commercial – you have to see what works best for your idea. I love models with character, give me some crooked teeth and lots of freckles and I’m as happy as can be.
