Model Elena Bulik
Armed with a cause, an idea and their fashion statement of “rawsome”, the class of 2005 got to work and the result was an excellent showcase of hard work and knowledge of the industry.  It was the type of show where the presence of the models served the creative ideas of the designers and organizers well. The way all these elements came together created quite the spectacle. The main objective for the organizers was “to show the evolution in fashion, starting with the raw and unpolished looks that graced the runway in the early years when fashion was not yet what it would eventually become, to the polished looks that are presented on the catwalk now, where every detail has been checked and checked again; because this is a business where perfection has become the ideal”.

The VIPs could be spotted everywhere because this annual show has produced some of Toronto’s fashion elite, from designers to make-up artists. Some of Canada’s top designers were proud to lend their talents to make sure that the event went of without a hitch. The evening started with an introduction from the Mistress of Ceremonies Jennifer Johnson, Fashion Editor of the Globe and Mail, followed by welcomes from both the Associate Dean of Humber’s Business School, Alvina Cassiani and the Fashion Co-ordinator, Susan Robertson. Then, set to the modern fashion anthem “fashion is for fashion people”, the designer’s creations told the story of fashion, how it started out as showcase and grew into a business.
