I started practising photography in my early twenties after moving to London from my native town of Istanbul, Turkey. I gained my main education in photography by reading various photographic books and magazines and by practising and testing with different equipment. I also took part on a course on studio lighting at Westminster University, which led me to work as an assistant in one of Europe’s largest photographic studios, Holborn Studios in London.
