returnBlue Orchids

The ambivalence and doublesidedness of beauty has been integral to my Art. The perfection of my models is clearly artificial. They seem flawless and arouse fascination through perfection thus idealizing and elevating attractive female nudes. Beauty becomes absolute.

Beauty is not democratic, yet distributed unequally among people. We worship beauty in mass media, but in art it remains elusive. Ugly is celebrated but not beauty.

My work seeks to restore "beauty in itself." I want the viewer to pause and catch their breath in a moment of suspended delight. My female nudes lead us to seek out other beautiful things. In this way beauty replicates itself, without our help.
