Like in cinema, the model plays a
character under the supervision of an
art director or a photographer. But the photograph has only one frame
to express what a movie can say in millions of frames. Therefore, I am
very much depending on the model’s ability to act and appear natural,
while posing. Female models tend to pose and very often in a suggestive
manner which is not what I am looking for. But in general I can divide
my photography into two categories: posing and spontaneity. And these
two get linked very easily. Basically if I can’t drive my models to not
be self-aware, I end up posing them.
