I am originally from California. My parents are both artists, my father, a life-long amateur photographer, gave me my first camera when I was 8. it was a Konica and the first photograph I ever took with it was a shot of my dog Mendy racing across our backyard. The colors of the lawn and sky turned a dreamy mix of greens and blues, Mendy a black and white blur of motion. My parents still have a print of it.

I am in New York now. I just moved to Brooklyn after 5 years in Manhattan. I live in East Williamsburgh in a really vacant, industrial part of town. I kinda like it, it's inspirational as a location. I am really into location. I'll shoot in a studio if you pay me but it just doesn't do anything for me creatively. I am always on the hunt for interesting indoor and outdoor locations.
