The composition of an image is the sum of its elements and their
relationship to each other. Sometimes these elements combine, sometimes
they contrast. There is a strong vertical element in the frame of this
photograph, and in the pose of the model as she hangs from the rock.
These vertical elements are opposed to the horizontal striation of the
rock in the large space to the right. The two elements are brought
together by the smaller diagonal striations on the left, and by the
model's bent leg.
Juxtaposition of Surface
Assignment: Refer back to the previous rule, and using those images
comment on the use of the juxtaposition of surface in nude imagery.
