My dad was always taking pictures of our family with his film camera. We still have this camera and I use it sometimes. He showed me how to use it and I remember taking pictures of everything. I used to take my camera to school and have at least 2 films to develop every week. I still have a box full of pictures. High school was quite hard for me, and I just couldn’t decide what I would like to do for my future. On a French channel a tv show called Beautiful people (from the U.S.) started to play so I used to watch it every week. It lasted only 16 episodes and Torrey Devitto was one of the main characters. In this tv show there was a photographer, he was living in a really big studio and I just got caught up in the show and that’s when I knew that I wanted the same life as him. It is weird to say that a tv show made me choose photography but I think I already knew, I just needed to see it to realize that it was what I wanted.

After high school I went to Dawson College and did a 3-year program in Professional photography. It taught me almost everything I know today and it was a great experience.

After I left Dawson College I was 19 years old and definitely not ready to start my own career. So I did an internship as an assistant stylist and didn’t like it at all. After that I decided to go to John Molson to do Marketing. I think I got scared of the fashion industry and wanted something safer for my future. But obviously, sitting in class and talking about numbers was something I hated doing.

After a year at Concordia I went to London for two weeks to take a break with my father and while I was there I saw London College of Fashion on Oxford street. London and this particular school had been a dream for a while. When I got back home, I applied for the Master in Fashion photography at LCF and got in. Now I live in London and I just started my masters and will be done next year.
