I have had no training at all in photography. Back in 2006 I decided to have a holiday
in Egypt and also shoot a short movie that I had planned. But
unfortunately the money was not enough for a movie camera so instead I
bought a little digital camera and some equipment, an underwater
housing. In Egypt there was an international freedivers competition
that a friend of mine was managing. She asked me (as I am a freediver
myself) if I could shoot the entire event. I said yes, and nothing I
have experienced in my life before that was more beautiful, graceful
and peaceful. The amazing view of those freedivers vanishing down, from the big blue to the black abyss! My love for the elegance, grace and esthetic movements of the human body was born in and from that moment and there was no way back. |
