I was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and currently live in the village of St. Osyth in the East of England, as I am completing my PhD at the Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies at the University of Essex. The relocation from the urban environment of my native city has had a great impact on my work. It at once widened the possibilities of my creative practice, making me consider video art and performance, and at the same time placed me within an unfamiliar landscape, void of the graphic properties inherent in the design and architecture of the place of my birth.
