Cygnus, The Swan

I have experimented with a variety of different approaches to photography, from documentation to surrealist constructed work.  Although I enjoy working in a variety of genres, I am most drawn to photographs that are conceptual and that engage a variety of personal and universal symbols and metaphors.

I am both a “maker” and a “finder,” sometimes constructing my subjects in the studio and sometimes finding them in the wide world.

Two photographers with whom I have taken multiple workshops and who have influenced me deeply are Keith Carter and Cig Harvey.  Although their work is very different, they have both been important models of artists who are passionate about the medium and who delve beneath surface appearances for deep meanings in their work.
