Snow White - My Sweet Prince

I often think ambient light is a bit boring.  I like to create my own light and set-up.  When I work nothing is really improvised.  For me creating a pictures is exactly like creating a drawing or a painting.  You start with an empty page, a blank space, and before starting to put anything down, I want to know exactly what I want to do, where I want to go.  Therefore it often is easier to shoot indoors - where everything can be controlled, adjusted, changed to the way I like.  I don't do things randomly, apart from some holiday snapshots.

In a way, I like to create darker universes and ambient pieces.  It's somehow more confrontational and takes the viewer outside his comfort zone.  It unsettles the status-quo of what is generally believed to be acceptable or understandable.   I try to create these through working with light, the composition of the picture itself or by the particular nature of the stories I tell through my pictures.
