I did a couple of internships in photo studios after school. The most important one was in a studio in Cologne. The photographer who owned it mostly shot portraits of musicians. He taught me how to do color and b/w printing. I loved spending time in the darkroom.

He would give me homework every week and made me build a portfolio to apply to photography schools. He was an amazing teacher and inspiration and introduced me to the work of Robert Frank, Diane Arbus and Walker Evans.
