Post Holiday Depression

As I got older, I started to become more and more interested in capturing what I saw. I never had much interest in portrait photography until I had already been taking pictures for several years, but originally I loved taking pictures of flowers, birds, insects, and pretty much anything else that would hold still long enough. I am completely self-taught up to this point, learning everything I know from trial and error, books, the internet, and other photographers who were kind enough to help me along the way.

I'm still feel pretty early on in my career as I consider the start of my 365 project when I first became serious about photography, which was less than three years ago. That being said, I have had an enormously positive response to my work and I am humbled at every opportunity I receive. Several big breaks I have been fortunate enough to have in the last couple years include being published in a booklet for Gadget Infinity’s Wireless Triggers, having one of my images selected for a smart phone App that is supposed to come out later this year, having one of my images used on the cover of the novel Froi of The Exiles, and having multiple images selected for publication in a Russian magazine later this year.

I am still a full time student who is working two part time jobs with photography on the side so I have not had the opportunity to market myself to the fullest extent. For that reason, I have felt extremely blessed at the opportunities I have received to this point and am excited to see what the future holds when I finish school.
