I have had both schooling and training but I must say that I learned more by assisting other  photographers. I started my career slowly in Ottawa while  studying, so there weren't any big disappointments at the beginning. I wasn't expecting much to happen right away. I kept doing shoots, meeting new people and experimenting. My first big break must be when I got published for the first time, in Press The Fashion magazine in Ottawa. Or when I met new people and they knew who I was. That was cool.
