Over the course of the last year I have been focusing my lens-based practice around my home and family. Through my use of the camera I have always been interested in the themes of ‘place’ and ‘identity.’

My interest in these themes came from spending a large part of my childhood away from my family and home, so I spend the majority of my time photographing objects and event from my past within the boundaries of my birthplace.

My practice has moved into using cross-processed film and the medium format camera. The reasoning for this is I am looking for an aesthetic quality that would refer to issues of the ‘past’ and reflect on my childhood events.

I have also begun to use shallow focus heavily within my work as I felt it gave me the dream-like quality I needed.
