I’d like to think I’m decent at both landscapes and fashion. I tend to stick more to fashion while I’m in Toronto but when I travel it’s all about the landscapes. Fashion is a fun field to be involved in, things keep changing, you can let your creativity run wild which is probably what I enjoy most. The only downside is that it’s very hard to get noticed as there are many established photographers who’ll take up the spotlight. Hints? Don’t get discouraged and keep plugging away at it! And if you have any for me I need hints too.

I love working with a team. Personally I’m a very laid back guy, I like a relaxed environment where everyone feels comfortable. I find this helps people be themselves and brings the best out of them. I do expect my team to pull their weight and to bring in their piece of the creative puzzle be it wardrobe, makeup, hair, etc. I like it this way as this makes the shoot less about me and more about the team.

I can’t say I’ve had another photographer mentor me (I would love to have one if anyone is interested). I’d have to say Dave Hill was my hero for my first bit. I’ve now moved on to Jill Greenberg who I think I owe most for my image style.

I get my inspiration from anything and everything. I do a lot of looking through magazines, watching TV, other photographers. Currently I’m going through a music video and movie phase and a lot of my inspiration comes from those.
