I am a biologist and a trained medical researcher. For the past couple of years, I have been working as a histology technician. As a creative outlet, I wrote poetry.

A year ago my husband bought me a dSLR and my focus shifted to photography. I have always been fascinated by photography. When I was 9 years old, my late grandfather gave me my first camera -- a point and shoot Olympus film camera. He wanted me to document our family trip to Hong Kong. After that, I continued to take photos casually.

A few years ago, my Dad gave me a very nice point and shoot digital Leica camera that allowed me to learn the manual settings. I used that camera to capture stolen moments of strangers in the streets of San Francisco. This fueled my desire to bring out the sides of people they don't often show. Once I had the dSLR, I was able to begin to set up my own shoots.
