I was born and raised in Piraeus, Greece and lived there for about 23 years before I moved to the US. I had artistic interests early on. I started playing the piano when I was eight and continue to do so now. I studied to become an engineer and moved to the US for graduate school. I am still a practicing engineer.
Photography did not interest me until I was about 30 years old. I have to admit that initially I was more interested in the gadget aspect (cameras and lenses) but it was not very long before art became the top priority. Photography is a secondary source of income and will most likely stay this way.
