I've been shooting professionally for 20 years. Before that I was a musician for twenty-five years – performer, arranger, producer, film composer – you name it, I did it. I was always into the nerdy side of things - recording technology, synthesizer programming, orchestration – so I adapted to the technical demands of photography pretty easily.

I started out taking headshots for actors. I live in Los Angeles and that's like selling seed corn in Kansas – no shortage of clients. It was a great way to learn studio lighting on somebody else's dime. But after about a couple of years it got pretty repetitive and I had to move on.
