I suppose my area of specialization is photographing women. At the moment this is the only subject that interests or inspires me.... for many complex and twisted reasons!

The context of the women in my photography is also very important to me. I always try and create a photograph that suggests some kind of narrative. As if it is one scene from a random point in a story. Anyone that sees the picture could have a different interpretation of it's 'story'.

I mostly shoot with just me and the model present. my models usually wear their own clothes and do their own make-up. I don't generally plan shoots very much and get most of my ideas on the shoot itself, so it's good to limit distractions. I meet a model at a location and take it from there....trial and error. This method can be quite stressful (and may seem a bit unprofessional to some models!) but I like to keep it spontaneous and have found that (for me) even a carefully planned shot ends up changing on the shoot anyway.

I sometimes have a basic theme and props selected but the actual content and composition of the pictures is never decided before the  shoot is underway. Having said all this I am very open to new methods... I would love to work with make-up artists and stylists and to create unique environments in which to shoot... to create bigger, more fantastical stories.
