I started photography seriously in high school - we had great, proper darkrooms and after my first year of high school photo I built my own color and b/w darkroom in the boiler room of my parents' house. I was doing Cibachromes in tanks by hand, rolling them on the floor for 1/2 hour per print, with really varied results. It was a fun time for experimenting.

I went to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts for my BA, to the photo department -- I knew photography would be my career, although at the time I thought I would be a fine artist, not a fashion photographer. The NYU TSOA program is really amazing -- I am so glad I chose it over the other schools I could have attended. After that I went on to get my master's degree at UIAH in Finland.
