I studied fine Art in Barcelona, (where I grew up) from an early age I was interesting in drawing and painting and the creative process of making images. Once I returned to Britain in 1991 I studied A level Art followed by a foundation course in Art and Design. Then the traditional path to University, it was there in 1993 that I was introduced to photography under the tutelage of Bruce Rae. I was immediately hooked and spent day after day shooting and printing, experimenting with various formats, especially 5x4 inches and 6x6 cm cameras. These cameras seemed to aid the process of capturing thoughts and ideas in a unique and stylized way. The joys of setting up situations, still life arrangements, I was totally addicted.

FIRST NUDE - A friend of mine at college asked me for my opinion on a series of nudes she had done of her sister in B/W, (her sister worked as a model for life drawing classes) and that inspired me to give it a go. Since then I have never looked back. I have photographed hundreds of people nude, most of them not conventional models and the majority people who have never dared to pose nude before. The more photos I developed, the more I began to build up my confidence in asking people. I found that whoever poses for you needs to know that you're going to make them look good, in my experience I found that having a good trusting connection with the sitter was essential, once that was established the creativity would flow.
