The Obedience

I was born 1966 in a small town in Germany, my mother was a photographer and I was in the darkroom from the time I could stand.

I studied photography in Munich and after that I went to New York City, than to London where I worked as a freelance assistant, comp card photographer (For Ford model agency NYC) and did some editorial work for Paper and Interview.

I came back to Munich and jumped right into the music scene where I started to develop my style. I sold my enlarger, bought myself a computer and started to build pictures where everything was suddenly possible. Portraits of musicians, especially electronic musicians, were the perfect subjects to get into this way of working. The electronic music scene was, at the beginning of the '90s, far ahead concerning the new media.
