Go to high end fashion boutiques like Louis Vuitton or Prada, and have a look at their luxury product catalogues. Many perceive that commercial still life shots such as those are easy and not as rewarding as shooting glamorous girls wearing ten thousand dollar frocks. Well, think again.

In fact, the ability to shoot still life is the basis of shooting anything else. It has everything to do with lighting technique, composition, attention to detail, and unfortunately, yes... patience. Shooting a pair of shoes that don't talk back is a meditational moment for me.
