Why did you choose knitwear or did it choose you?

When I finished college I didn’t really have a specific goal in mind as to what I wanted to do as a career. I ended up working for a designer for a while and designed accessory pieces for her and they ended up selling well. It made me think more of what I wanted to do long term. I was asked to sign a two-year contract with her and part of that was to tone down my look, look more conservative as well as not being allowed to do my own line on the side. I decided not to sign, and took the risk of starting my own business where I can be creative in every way, I do the designing and my name actually goes on the products I make. Usually when you think of knitwear, you think of bulky sweaters or scarves. I really wanted to change that and create something really unique, personal, and sexy yet tasteful and edgy. I really wanted to change the whole idea that knitwear is seasonal and meant for only fall and winter to keep you warm. I wanted to show a different side to it, a side that is light, sexy and hugs the body in all the right places. Knitwear can be really fun and light, even in hot weather.
